I will be writing homework on the board about 170ish more times this year. That’s a lot of times.
I had hoped to do a weekly HW board, but I just can’t sacrifice the board space.
At least I can save myself some marker strokes by using these subject titles for my little Homework nook on my board. I really love how they turned out!
I also found some polka dot tape at Target to make a grid too… even less marker strokes, woohoo!
I trimmed along the black border and laminated them, and they turned out pretty fab. :)
We have to post our daily objectives for each lesson, so I also made an “Objectives” title to match. I have my objectives right next to my homework, so they are sort of sharing the Subject Titles.
Just as a side note… for my objectives, I right click and copy the objective on my lesson plan and paste it in another Word document and enlarge the font size. Then I just print, trim around the edges, and hang. I hot glued tacks to the backs of mini clothespins and stuck them in the wall. Then I just clothespin them all on and off each day! It’s worked pretty well so far!
I’m putting the subject and date on the back of each one to try to keep them organized for next year. {Of course, as all teachers know, that guarantees I WON’T be teaching the same grade level next year, ha!}
I am sharing the Subject Titles & Objectives Title with you here if you’re interested…
That extra Homework Title in the middle is for my Homework crate where they turn in their homework each morning, fyi.
Do you write your homework on the board daily? Don’t you agree it’s amazing when you can find ways to streamline those daily mundane tasks? :) The less marker strokes the better, I say!
Linking up to.. Weekend Bloggy Link up, Five Days Five Ways, and 4th Grade Frolics!
Thank you for the titles! They are very cute :)
For homework, I type out a homework sheet for the week and staple any papers they need to complete the work. I collect it daily, mark it, and record it. I put the packets together the week before so I don’t have to waste time on Monday frantically putting it all together. It has saved me a lot of headaches and the parents really seem to like it. They know my expectations and their children can do the work even when they haven’t attended school!
I would probably do a HW sheet but our school does student planners starting in 4th and they want the kiddos to start learning how to copy HW!
We do put HW online so parents can refer to that {and print it} if they don’t think their child has copied it correctly. :)
Very cute! Your classroom sounds so pretty! =) And you just amaze me…I don’t have a clue how you are managing to teach full time, be a mommy, and blog. Wowsers! =)
Laine, do not be fooled… I do NOT do it all. When one area gets more attention, then another area must suffer a lack thereof. :)
I’m doing my best to work through this transition of getting back in the working swing of things and at least trying to keep up with things!
Thankfully, I have a hubby that is very hands on so that’s a big help!
I like the way you have the headings used to show both objectives and homework! I put the homework up on the smartboard for them to write down in their agenda at the end of the day. I don’t know what I did with myself before my smartboard! Actually… I do… last year I used the projector to show it at the end of the day. I found that they often forgot to do it in the morning or wouldn’t have time, so we do it all together at packup time at the end of the day!
I love the idea but they are no longer available on your Dropbox. Is there somewhere else the label might be available? Thanks so much.
Hi! Is there anyway we can print this now? The link doesn’t work :(.
