One of the things we’ve enjoyed most about heading “back to school” is all the extras available for Haylee to participate in. She is a social girl, for sure, and we just didn’t get to do much of the fun social stuff while we were homeschooling.
Now she gets Art Class, Computer Class, Library Time, P.E., and Music Class once a week. She’s also doing Elementary Choir and Piano Lessons.
And one BIG thing she just finished was the Elementary performance of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
I was SHOCKED that my girl was even interested in auditioning, especially after I told her she had to SING as well!
She managed to brave it through the singing audition and made it in the chorus. {They had a whopping 60+ kids try out and found a spot for them all, I think.)
The big night was last Friday night and she had quite the entourage come out to support her debut. Thankfully, I got to see the morning performance with the class, because Davis demonstrated that he is STILL afraid of the dark, people.
When are we gonna learn? The child started whimpering when we entered the room and he caught sight of the stage… with full lights on!
It was very cute and she did great!
I absolutely LOVE that she gets opportunities like this now.
Love it.
Of course, there are tons of extracurriculars out there readily available for homeschoolers, but I just couldn’t manage to find a way to make it work financially or with the other two chilluns.
These wild two definitely don’t just sit quietly around patiently waiting on their sister.
Guess who gets their cast off in ONE WEEK??? Woohoo!
We are proud of you, Haylee!
But I am so glad it {and all the practices} are over! :)
