We’re doing a small party this weekend to celebrate Haylee’s 4th birthday with basically just immediate family. This is going to be a Barbie party. Whoo-hoo, right? I had tentative plans to make a cake for the big day. I was hoping to make one of those stand up doll cake deals,
…but after reading an online review, I decided to go with the Barbie cake pan that lies down like a traditional cake pan.
I looked at Hobby Lobby and Michaels to no avail. I called three other Michael’s and two more Hobby Lobby’s. I called two AC Moore’s and a few specialty shops without finding a single store that carried any Barbie pans! Who knew?
I finally had some good news when I was told that Garden Ridge had one solitary Barbie pan in stock.
Go to Wilton.com – they list the complete instructions (usually with a photo as well) for almost all of their pans. I’ll go right now and try to find the link for you…. (It is a wilton pan, right?)
Here’s the link to the page I was talking about! Hope this helps!

Let me know if you have any more questions (about tips, colors, etc.) – I’m more than willing to help!
As far as the face inlay,…I’d just look for a picture of a Barbie face online and print it out…
I hope you have a great party for Haylee! So far, I’ve been a bad mommy when it comes to birthday parties. I just invite lots of people and feed them, but I don’t have themes. However, this year I WILL CHANGE THAT!! I’m already looking forward to a Nemo Spectacular :)
Oh, are you still having blog troubles? First, you might need to check your layout to see if the template you chose even has a header option. I don’t think yours does, but I could be wrong.
In your template section, there should be a Header and Subheader little option box. To put a picture, you actually have to know a little bit of code. I think (not quite sure, cause it’s been awhile) in the sub header, you have to put:
< img src="http://addressofwhateverpictureyouwantrighthere.com>
HOpe that helps!
Oh, in the code part, erase the space between < and img. For some reason blogger thought I was trying to right code in your comments box :)
BTW, … I don’t know what the on-line review said,… but the stand up pan is really quite simple. (And I’m not just saying that because I make cakes…) I know it can seem intimidating.
