Two Weeks Already?

Our little guy is already 2 weeks old! These two weeks have flown by in a flurry of adjusting to life with a newborn. It has been a “hot five” since we’ve done the whole constant feeding-not sleeping routine. Haylee will be five in May and is pretty independent. So… it has been interesting. :) He is eating every 3 hours at night which is very tiring! The crazy thing is that the little stinker will go 4 hours between feedings during the day, but at night he’s gotta have it every 3!

I can’t complain though, because he is such a contented baby for the most part. He is probably going to have Chris’s laid back, flexible temperament and not his anal-retentive mommy’s. ;)

He’s been having this great eye gunk lately, so we headed to the doctor to see if they could give us some drops. After my precious pooped and then pooped some more on the weighing table, they said that he has a blocked tear duct which evidently is not uncommon. It will clear up on its own, most likely in the next several months, but they did give us a prescription for some drops to help relieve the crusties. I was glad to be able to talk to the doctor, because I had some other questions too, and I was glad to be able to get him weighed again. In about a week, he gained a pound and a half! He went from 6 lbs 6 oz a week ago to 7 lbs 12 oz today, which is a relief for me!

Tomorrow is our 8th anniversary, which will be quite different this year! We normally go away for some time alone…kid-less, but obviously, this year that really wasn’t a possibility. So… we are hoping to get away for dinner alone. We’ll see if it happens!

Here’s some pics to commemorate his 2 week milestone! ;)

Happy Anniversary! I hope you can get some time out too…

Wow, he really has changed in just a couple of weeks — what a cutie! I love his eyes. Sorry about the lack of sleep — it’s never fun no matter how you spin it. Will be praying for you all.
