The Joy(s) of Christmas?

I love the Christmas season, and all the hub bub and fa la la la in the air, but this year I am feeling overwhelmed. I am so excited that I am virtually D O N E! with my shopping {I love to shop for Christmas all year long!}. AND I’m done with my Christmas Cards/Birth Announcements.  I know I’m a bit late on the BA’s, but I figure any time before the baby’s 3 months old and you’re good, right? I had actually decided to not try to do Christmas cards this year since the $$ was starting to add up when you factor in the cards themselves and the matching outfits I was going to “have to” come up with.  I found some old cards I had forgotten about, though, so I did do a “card” with the BA for most of the ones I mailed.  {I ran out, so the rest of the crowd just got a BA only. Sorry if that was you…}

Here’s my announcement done by my fabulous sis, of course…

Davis front for blog
{the front}
Davis Back for blog {and the back}
She did a fabulous job didn’t she???  I did mention that she took the photos and did the card, right?
Thanks soooo much, B!

So now that my announcements are done, the next thing hanging over my head in a ‘how am I ever going to get this done’ kind of way is all.of.the.present.wrapping!  My dad grew up with no gifts wrapped.  They were all just under the tree as in Santa just brought these from the workshop.  He likes to give mom grief about “wasting” time wrapping gifts… especially when they are being wrapped the night before they will be opened.  {Just saying, mom.}

Maybe I should adopt the Santa-no-wrap method this year, because honestly the thought of getting all these gifts wrapped is just killing me.  I have a teesny tiny window of time in the day when both Wade and Davis are napping to drag the supplies and gifts out and try to go wrap-crazy.  I also have the time after Wade goes to bed at 8 pm in between multiple Davis feedings/rockings.  Plus there is no designated place I could set things up and just leave them to come back when I have a second.  That means, of course, that I need to spread out, wrap, and clean up… all in those short windows.

Okay, I know that I’m moaning and complaining.  I’m sorry.  I should have at least the same amount of time as I did last year since I was working and didn’t even get home until 4 pm or later…  Plus, as long as I’m in a moment of looking on the bright side, last year I was standing at the front door of the school EVERY DAY from 7:30 to 8:00 am freezing my little big tush off.

I’m saying all that to show you this…

The best wrapping organizer ever!  Seriously.  Doesn’t that look so amazing? And there are detailed plans and instructions on how to make this yourself!  She has more amazing things on her site too… Unfortunately, If I don’t have time to  wrap, I don’t have time to build.  Not to mention that I do not have clearance from the hubster to use the tools ya need for this.  {Because of course I could make this, if only I had permission to use the tools, ya know.}

Soooo…. until I get my own wrapper organizer, I’m happy with this make do method I came up with this year.

I like it because…

A.) It’s mobile. Crazy clutter everywhere just makes me… well, crazy.  I need some type of storage I can stuff everything back in and stow somewhere out of sight if I start to twitch need be.

B.) It’s organized. I have four bags inside the big bag.

One for ribbon.  One for miscellaneous things like tape, scissors, pen, and my list of what present is what. One for trash.  And one for wrapping paper. Everything  but the wrapping paper bag {A dollar tree bag, of course}stands on its own, which means quick one handed retrieval of what I need. Even one handed throwing of trash away. :)
C.) It’s purty-ish.  Everyone knows it’s just more fun to do whatcha gotta do when you can use something purty.

I know that we’re not talking awesome-ly beautiful here, but it’s much better than a walmart bag, right?

I’ve got 15 presents down. Only 1 hundred gabillion to go.
