I am doing my best to stay cool amid the heat wave we are experiencing this summer. It only figures that the ONE summer I have to suffer through BIG and PREGNANT would be the summer where the newscasters marvel at the oppressive heat. I discovered at my last appointment that I am pretty anemic as well so that does not help with my energy level. I have been having some Braxton Hicks contractions too which are SO much fun. Oh, and I’m not always sleeping all that great.
Don’t you just wish you were pregnant too?
I think that part of getting close to the end is just plain being miserable. It’s nice to at least rest in the fact that time is drawing near and *hopefully* getting back to normal sooner rather than later. I actually wouldn’t mind having another kiddo if I didn’t have to be preggo again. I feel like I’m just too old. :)
As of my last appointment at 28 weeks I’ve gained around 15 lbs. I need to check the Wii and see if their total is any more favorable. I don’t feel like I’m all THAT big when I look in the mirror, but when I see a picture of myself I can’t help but think, “WHO is that fat Chick? It can’t be ME!” Isn’t is sad how badly we deceive ourselves? :)
After a long 10 week wait, I finally am going back for my follow up ultrasound to re-check my “not so good news” I received at my 20 week visit. I have done fairly well (minus the initial and dangerous web surfing on the topics) at not thinking about both of my issues(complete placenta previa & fluid on baby’s kidney) in the last 10 weeks… just waiting until this coming up moment to reveal further info on our fate. As much as I DON’T want a c-section, I know that it’s not that big of a deal, and I’ll survive. If the news is once again “not so good,” then I’m really not sure what the next step is. I am assuming that they will schedule another ultrasound to see if there has been any further movement and then I guess, schedule the C-section for around 37-38 weeks. Of course, I am not sure on any of that info, but I hope to know more after Thursday.
On other more pleasant topics… After MANY name discussions, we have agreed on a tentative name for #3… Now, no one should go and monogram anything, but… drumroll please…
Baby #3 is probably going to be Davis Elijah…
I know I take a big risk asking this, but… What do you think?
I have loved the name Davis since way before Wade came around but never could get Christopher on board. He held to the opinion that Davis was a last name and just about every time I suggested it, he would calmly counter with the name MUCH more his speed… David. Somehow I managed to sway his steely resolve, and he even seems fairly satisfied with the name. :)
I already showed off my diaper bags… Did I mention I LOVE this one???
Soooo, at this point, I am operating under the assumption that this addition is, in fact, not going to be ready before the baby gets here. I’m okay with this and realize that the baby will be sleeping in our room for the first several weeks anyway. One problem I am facing, however, is coming up with a temporary place to stow the baby’s supplies, gear, and general paraphernalia in the meantime. So far, I have managed to clear out two small drawers and one large shelf. For now that will just have to do. Babies have made it on far less, I’m sure. My own Uncle Paul (#8 of 11 kids), for instance, was made to sleep in an actual dresser drawer since his older sibling (my mom) was still occupying the crib when he made his debut. (I seriously thought they were kidding when I first heard that story.)
WOW. Seriously, where does the time go? It does seem like just yesterday that you were sharing the news! :) Definitely praying for your appt. on Thurs. I hope that you hear some good news and you leave with more solid information that helps to alleviate some of your fears.
Getting so excited for you! I know that being pregnant in the summer is the pits. I was preggo w/ Lil during a very hot/humid summer. It was that summer that Matt took great pity on me and purchased our dishwasher! ;) Hang in there!
Praying for you.
I love the name. Last names for first names can be so cute … like Anderson Cooper. P.s. You look tiny. I can't believe this is your 3rd pregnancy and that you are 30 weeks and still so small.
You look beautiful girl! Hang in there!
Totally forgot to tell you that I love the name! :) Davis is my mother's maiden name, so I might be a bit partial to it… but I love the combo you've chosen!
Okay… first of all… you are SO NOT FAT!?! Ugh… I'm trailing you by 4 weeks and someone at Church asked me on Sunday, "So this ones due next month, right?" So, there ya go. (I'm debating whether or not to post a pic & leaning toward NOT!) ;-)
Also LOVE the name! "Davis" is a cute updated version of David… and is Elijah a family name of some sort? Isn't Bette Anne's Eli actually Elijah? (Shelly would KILL me if I used one of the names she's got "picked out!")
Ha! I guess I should have elaborated on the Elijah name… Yes, Eli is Elijah, but we had actually picked out the name long before Wade or Eli came along and B unknowingly took it. :) I struggled with coming up with a middle name I liked that went with Davis. I wanted it to be 3 syllables and there just aren't a whole lot of boy names with 3 syllables. I liked Elijah so I asked B if she cared… :) Hopefully with it being a middle name it won't be a big deal.
That's cool!
We were kinda jostling around the idea of "Grace" for a middle name, but Shelly was VERY quick to remind me that she's already got dibs on that! LOL!
