All of our homeschooling gear has been packed up and stowed away…
Leaving more time for sweet things like this…
Even though in Wade’s world, this game is NOT over until e.v.e.r.y hole has been filled. :)
I guess there IS a reason for those minimum age guidelines, huh.
Our last week of school I sort of last minute decided that it would be cool to plan something special and fun to do every day in honor of that most momentous event.
Monday… Gymnastics!
Tuesday… Supposed to be Story Time at the Library, buuut when we got there it was cancelled! Boo! So instead we stopped for a quick shopping trip treat at Goodwill and scored some fabulous deals.
Wednesday… Monkey Joe’s with our homeschooling friends, Madison & Ryland for 1/2 price Wednesday’s. The kids had an absolute b l a s t as you can imagine, and somehow Wade scored a free gooshy ball.
I seriously thought he must have swiped it from someone. He was beyond elated to have this amazing ball, but when I asked him over and over where he got it, all he could say was, “I dunno.”
I took him back to what I thought was the scene of the crime and continued my “interrogation” when a nearby mom spoke up and said that her daughter had given it to him. {She had two apparently.}
I do love Ryland’s face in this pic. So very descriptive of the one ball-two boys dilemma. :)
Thursday… A Library Trip to stock up on our first stash of summer reading. You may not believe it, but after picking out a few books, Wade actually sat at the library table and read quietly.
I know. Wow.
Friday… Day at the park!
{via}
This was a big treat even though it was an absolute scorching hot day. We met {our homeschooling} cousins at a nifty nearby park with lots of kid appealing things like bridges and connecting walkways that kept them well entertained despite the sweltering heat.
Sadly I somehow didn’t get ONE picture.
Maybe it’s because I was literally melting. Or something.
Here’s to MANY more lazy, hazy days of sweet summah-time!
