Ooohhh Poor Chris Sligh…

We are so sad that Chris Sligh got voted off American Idol. We wanted to see him go far. With his roots being ultra-conservative Christian, and the fact that I know several people that knew him, I felt an immediate loyalty to him from the beginning. I even got Haylee cheering for Chris. :)
I think he’s going to do well though. He made it to the top 10 which means he gets to go on tour with AI this summer, and his former band Half Past Forever just released their album exclusively on Amazon and it has reached as high as #22 on their bestsellers list!! A huge feat for an indie band, I’m sure. Ironically, his album went higher than Gwen Stefani’s!
He has a blog he’s been updating since his boot. I appreciate his values, his humor and his philosophy of laid-backness. I hope to see him go far in life.
Here’s an interview he did after the big boot…

Andy was sure Chris would last longer, but I had a feeling he’d get voted off that night. A lot of online reviews really blasted Chris for singing two Christian songs. Too bad. I’m glad he’s doing well, though.
