“Your children are the only ones who can wake you up from a sound sleep and still receive whispered endearments.”
Am I right? Any other person such as a roommate, sibling, parent, or spouse that would dare wake you up screaming that they were hungry would receive quite the opposite treatment in fact. :)
“Your children are also the only ones you find yourself congratulating for bodily functions such as burping and pooping.”
At least for the few months of their lives. Then you resort back to normalcy in training them to at least to attempt to control such things.
Last night’s feedings evidently provoked philosophical thought. Lack of sleep can do amazing things to you, and I’m only just beginning them! :)
Wade did remarkably well… He woke up to eat twice at 2 am and 6 am, but other than that, he actually slept in his cradle the whole night and went down without a fuss after his feedings! I am still astonished! Haylee was never so agreeable as to manage that. She actually co-slept with us until she was a month old, as this was the only way we found that we could manage to get some rest. :)
We took him yesterday for a one week check-up, and he did really well for the most part until the very end and we were headed to check out. Then the screaming bloody murder commenced.
At discharge he was 6 lbs 5 oz, and yesterday he was only 6 lbs 6 oz, but the doctor didn’t seem to be worried about it. He is eating well, and I guess that is the important thing. Haylee was so funny when the doctor began checking Wade out. She crawled up on the table with him and soothed him, telling him it was okay. We were chuckling at this role reversal, since she is Miss Freak Out when she gets on the table. I think she was truly empathizing with him!
Our Wade is one week old Today! It is hard to believe since the days have seemed to fly by in a blur. I’m ever so glad to be one week on THIS SIDE of the delivery… :)
I had to chuckle a little at the “screaming bloody murder” comment… You obviously haven’t heard a two-year old screaming tantrum in a while… Those little one-week old “cries” are so PRECIOUS in comparison!
The more pics I see of him he looks like Haylee of course in a boy way… So glad you go to our Dr now.. I feel honored .. ha You will love high.. Glad Chris thought he was so cool.. when we take Marli Sage ends up getting a complete ck up so that makes me feel good . ha ha he gets jealious that she got her ears looked at and not him etc.. I haven’t been charged yet.. ha ha xoxoxo
Cracking up that Haylee was calming Wade down, since she is defintely the Queen of the Freakout!! Maybe this will help her when she goes to Doctors now! Glad that you made the switch cause I know you’ve been thinking about it for a while now!
See y’all in like 11 days! ;)
