Locks of Love

Yes, believe it or not we did it. Chris has been pushing for a haircut for Haylee since he often is the one doing the hassle part of the hair. Haylee and I are the ones who were reluctant to agree to it, however.

Well, a few weekends ago, Haylee informed us that she wanted short hair. So when she still was claiming a desire to be shorn the next day, we headed out to the salon. We thought it would be a good idea to do the Locks of Love and had heard that if you do that, they give you a free haircut.

She was a little freaked by the hair cutting experience and was afraid that the cutting part would hurt. The stylist wasn’t exactly the most kid friendly and didn’t do that impressive job in my opinion. Plus, when we went up to the counter, we were informed that the haircut wasn’t free, but he did end up giving it to us free because it was her first cut.

We got home and I decided to try to cut some layers in it to help with the bluntness at the ends. I’m probably not done playing with it, and after some tips from Chris’s cuz that is a stylist, I may try something else on it shortly!

I was scared that Haylee would not like it and be upset after it was all done, but that was the farthest thing from the truth. She was Miss Priss checking herself out and letting us know that she liked her short hair!

I was just reading the above post and getting ready to comment when I saw this post below — what a great thing for her to donate her locks. I was oohing and ahhing over the Christmas pics of her… the hair cut looks so very pretty on her. Glad she liked it after all the hassle you had at the salon. She sounds a little like Claire – she’s def. my “prissy” one. :) I love it! It is such a fresh look for her.
