…er, rather, at the time, it was. Since I am late in posting as usual, this post finds us already into the new year. But before I can talk about the New Year, I must finish the Christmas recounting.
Christmas Eve morning we woke up and headed over to Chris’s parents for our celebration with his side of the fam. Robin fixed a scrumptious breakfast fit for a king, of course, and afterwards we began the gift opening extravaganza. There are 6 kids, from 5 months old to 6 years. It’s hard to imagine how uneventful the Christmas gala would be without and kiddos running around. There is just something about kids at Christmas. There’s nothing like it.
After the gifts, the kids and Nana made a Gingerbread House. I thought it turned out pretty well, and the kids loved it. It was Haylee’s first time to make one ever, and I’m thinking it’s a tradition she is going to want to continue….
Pop decided he wanted to torture us all with attempting a family picture this year. It’s definitely a miraculous undertaking… Shockingly we ended up with one shot where everyone is looking at the camera! Even 5 month old Baby Ty!
This year Chris set off the timer and a crazy veggie tale stuffed animal that danced all around… We got lots of laughs when he wiggled his way right off the edge of the chair…
After an extended photo shoots with a ba-jillion kiddos on a self timer, this is what happens…
We got some family shots too… since we’re ambitious like that. :)
WOW. Seriously – all of your plans/events from the Christmas break leave me feeling a little overwhelmed. LOL. Ours was SO quiet this year and I LOVED it! ;) But it really looks and sounds like you had a wonderful time with family and made a lot of GREAT memories. Have to give Haylee a shout out about her awesome gingerbread house! :) It's great! Can't wait to hear the "rest of the story…" ;)
