It’s a miracle, no really!

I received a Baby Boy scrapbook for the Wadester before he was even born, but yet somehow up until a few weeks ago it sat with the other scrapbooks lonely and forlorn.  Empty and neglected.  Pretty standard procedure for those poor deprived middle kids, though, right?

As I’ve mentioned once or a million times before, Haylee was my easy-to-please child, and Wade was my needy child.  When she was a baby, I still managed to work on her scrapbook… especially in the early months… since I could just put her in her swing or whatever, plus she napped a lot too.  I went back to work when Wade was about 5 months old, and he didn’t really chill out with the fussiness until about four months.  Soooo, needless to say, I wasn’t able to get anything done on his book…. until NOW!

A few weeks ago, I decided to drag out the long forgotten scrapbooking supply box and at least get started on Wade’s book before Baby #3 got here to make me feel extremely behind.  Because really, my chances of doing a book for either of them would go WAY down once I would have  TWO books and months of pictures looming over my head in a "I’m-never-ever-ever-going-to-finish-these" kind of way.

So, I’ve been scrapping like crazy!  Here’s the first half I’ve done…  {click for a jumbo sized pic…}

I have the last 7 layouts started {which will finish up the book, yay!} since I came up with a plan of attack I’ve never tried before.  I did the last 7 layouts in a kind of assembly line kind of way.  First I did the hard part of picking papers and colors and pictures and deciding where and how I was going to lay it out.  So I went through all 7 layouts and just got the basics glued down.

The next step of the assembly line was cutting out the captions and clipart on the cricut.  That took one afternoon’s naptime just to get them all cut out. At that point, I had all 7 layouts stacked in a pile with the captions and clipart precariously stuck in between.  I really needed to get them glued on asap since it was a Wadester accident just waiting to happen.

The third step was gluing on the captions and clipart which took another whole nap time the next day.  Now, all I have left is the final step of embellishing and finishing with stickers, ribbons, and brads, etc…

The assembly line has seemed to work pretty well and made the task less daunting since I was only working in sections.  Plus, with my impending labor looming, this leaves me at a much better stopping point and makes it MUCH more likely for me to be able to finish this up in the near future… even if it’s after the baby is here.

Hopefully, I’ll do better at keeping up with Baby #3’s book as we go.  I need to just print the good pics at the end of the month.  Then I at least have a better chance of working on it a bit at at time.  Maybe that way I won’t be sitting here when #3 is two and a half years old just getting started.

The second installment of pages coming soon….
