I heart Banana Republic…

… and I abhor Aeropostale. Well, to be honest, I really just abhor their ridiculous sizings. I think they have made the conscious decision that their clothing line is going to market only to the teeny bopper “OMW I can’t find my size 2” crowd since there is no way a plus sized gal could find ANYTHING to wear in that store. I don’t consider myself plus sized, bu if I do find something there, I have to reconcile myself to wearing the fab “XL”.

In contrast, Banana Republic sizes swing the other way. I can joyously wear a medium. Ah, the thrill that brings. Even if the shirt uses the exact same sq. yardage of fabric, those little letters on the tag mean something to a girl’s psyche. :) No one wants to sport an “XL” when they could swing a “M”!

Not that I can always afford Banana Republic, although I do shop their sales and do all right. Does anyone else have this problem??

I spent the greater part of today shopping my self silly. I had a great time getting all the great deals and was literally so ready to be done. I had shopped that much! I found lots of good buys at the always amazing Children’s Place and Gap and B.R. We also picked up an Easter sweater vest outfit for Wade that is so cute! I can’t wait to see him all dressed up and ready for Easter Sunday.

After we shopped we headed back to the condo for a few minutes, and then finally made it to the beach. We’ve been here four days and hadn’t walked down to the beach yet! Before we left home, we promised Haylee we would bring her a seashell back. When we talked to her on the phone Thursday she asked if we had gotten it for her.

We answered with our excuse that we hadn’t been to the beach yet. She was confused and asked us in a puzzled voice, “Well. . . where are you then?” We had to laugh at her perspective…

Our beach walking, shell searching adventure was so. very. cold! The wind was whipping right through us and my choice for flip flops was proving to be a poor one. :) It was beautiful though and the seagulls were everywhere around us. Chris started throwing shells to them faking them into thinking he was throwing them food. :) We even set up the camera on a random post and set the timer for the first time ever. We searched for a nice big shell for Haylee, but we were unsuccessful in our search. We opted for the $1.99 shell at the Bargain store. :)

We enjoyed our last night here at Carrabba’s and then back to the condo to watch the Tarheels game that Chris had recorded. I’m trying to update here as he cheers on his Heels. Thankfully, I know that they won, so I know that he’ll be happy not bummed. :) Pretty much every anniversary has had to be shared with his Heels and crazy March Madness, but that’s okay. I was happy he was willing to tape it so we could wait to watch it now instead of smack dab in the middle of the evening at 5:45…

We’ll be packing up tonight and heading home tomorrow… :( Sad that our time away is ending, but happy to be getting back to my little ones I’ve been missing!

I def. understand the concept of sizing you are speaking of! Aeropostale and those other “tenny-bopper” stores are catered to the straight-hipped, uncurvasous teens of the world. =) I always feel better in Banana anyway, like I am buying “grown up clothes” Glad you had fun. Can’t wait to see your finds. =)

It’s funny you say that because Heather and I were at the mall the other day and we saw an Aeropostale and it was so bright and colorful that we had to cover our eyes. I half expected the care bears to jump out and invite us in or rainbow bright to appear to help find a dressing room and then we saw BR and it was all grown up and classic looking. I will six feet under and still never understand why girls put so much stock in size. If it fits it fits.Oh, well. The mysteries of the universe.
