I’m a reality tv junkie. I don’t know what it is about watching real people in those reality tv situations, but I can’t seem to get enough. I watch Survivor, Apprentice, Amazing Race, Big Brother, and obviously, American Idol. I’m not a believer in the vote for the worst philosophy. If you haven’t heard about this movement, its purpose is to keep their worst pick in the game for as long as possible.
Their pick this year was Sanjaya. I say “was” because Sanjaya finally got voted off last night!!!!!
Whoohoo! Now they will move onto a new contestant probably Phil or Chris.
Sanjaya was just sooooo bad it was painful to watch. Somehow it seemed he was blissfully unaware that the only reason he was still surviving week after week was that a website was declaring him the WORST singer on the show!
Last night, Sanjaya, Lakeisha, and Blake were standing there in the bottom three, and in my mind I kept thinking, if Lakeisha or Blake get sent home tonight, then something is not right in the world.
Ryan informed us that this was the largest number of votes for the top seven, so maybe that means the other contestants’ fans all rose up to defend them against the vote for the worst crowd.
I do feel a bit sorry for Sanjaya the moment he found out that his popularity was not due to his winning personality, crazy hair, or, um, maybe… his singing ability, but instead because he was the worst one they could find. I’m sure he was aware of this early on, but whenever the moment came, I have a feeling it was a “burst your big bubble” kind of moment.
That said, I can’t decide who I want to win…. definitely one of the three girls, though.
