Yesterday was our 8th wedding anniversary, believe it or not! It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a married woman for close to a decade now. I’m married to a thirty year old and pushing thirty myself. How did I end up getting so old? I was just 22 fresh out of college on the verge of getting married! Next thing I know, I’ll be pushing 40 with a 10 year old and 15 year old. Ah! Scary!
We typically try to get away for a week or so to celebrate our anniversary, but that wasn’t really a possibility this year with our wee one. Chris did take the day off and we were able to have four whole hours to ourselves! We drove to Shelby and dropped off the kiddos with mom and then enjoyed dinner, shopping and even a movie! Wow! Who would have thought. Not exactly our normal level of celebration, but we were still glad to be able to get a few moments alone. We watched the four o’clock movie which was only $5 for one thing… and four o’clock on a Tuesday is not really a happening time in Shelby apparently, because we were the ONLY ones in the theater! I don’t think that’s ever happened to us before. :) It was kinda cool actually. We were able to prop our feet up and laugh and talk at whatever volume we desired. :)
Happy Anniversary to us!
Happy Anniversary, again! Glad you had some time alone. Did you see anything good? LOL.
OHHHH how sweet.. Think 8 years ago when you were at the movies alone you were smoochy smoochy now at our age its a great time for a nap.. isn’t that sad.. and at dinner all you know how to talk about is the kids.. but for some reason life just gets better and better with kids, age and marriage.. congrats wes and i were there yay! it was very pretty..
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! (Ya’ll look like babies in those pictures!) :)
We saw Fool’s Gold… It was pretty good. :)
Happy Anniversary! I’m so jealous that you were able to get so much time off! Although Andy’s family lives nearby, they don’t help out much with the kids, so we have to pay for our freedom, lol!
Happy Anniversary! Wow…8 years…seems like yesterday. Where does the time go? I am so glad you got to enjoy your day.
