Happy Birthday!
Today is that glorious and oh so annoying holiday otherwise known as April Fool’s Day! Pause to note that I am ever so glad to not be in a classroom of fifth graders on this day. It actually also happens to be my dad’s birthday. Aren’t you glad you didn’t get stuck with that as your special day? That would almost be as bad as a Leap Year birthday!
Today Dad is turning a whopping 71! We are planning to head over to their house for dinner after Chris gets home from work…. which now that I mention it is much earlier since he has recently gotten an earlier schedule. Yay! He went from 9:30 – 6:00 to now 8:00 to 4:30 (three days a week) which I am really enjoying.
Today is also special for another reason… Christopher Wade is officially one month old today! He is now 22 inches long and weighs 10 lbs (according to our bathroom scale), and his head is measuring just under 14.5 inches. His original stats were 6 lbs 11 oz, 20.5 inches long, and his head measured 13 inches.
His milestones this month include many fabulous and noteworthy things! Yesterday he “definitely” gave me a real and actual smile! I am almost positive that this was not one induced by his feelings of gas! He had just finished eating and when I sat him on the pillow next to me and started talking and playing with him, he gave me a big, wonderful smile. He then gave me another “definite” one after another feeding later that day. So I feel fairly confident that this was the real deal! ;) I got a glimpse of a bit of smile on camera for you to enjoy.
Another wondrous and oh so thrilling milestone is that as of last night he graduated to four oz of formula at a feeding, and… I’m assuming as a result of that last night managed to go from 8:00 to 12:30 (4.5 hours), 12:30 to 4:00 (3.5 hours) and 4:00 to 7:30 (3.5 hours). Isn’t that amazing??? Insert the Hallelujah Chorus here! No one else may find it fantastic, but Chris and I surely do as we are hoping and wishing and praying for any sign that our little man is going to stretch out those every-three-hours night feedings to give us our sanity back!
Speaking of which, I am doing better on that regard. We decided to try another formula since it seemed that what we were using may not be agreeing with him. We tried Enfamil Gentle Ease which is for fussiness and gassiness. I think it has helped, and I hope it continues to do so.
So enjoy your April Fool’s Day and some pics of my One Month Old! Sorry if they all seem the same! ;)
Wow! 1 month already… where has the time gone?!?! Tell Uncle Don we all say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (What little evil are pulling on Chris toiday??? The kids & I always conspire to pull SOMETHING over on Danny…)
Those are really cute pics… :) I can’t believe it has already been a month! Crazy stuff!
WOW, where does the time go? Congrats on your little one growing and smiling! I know that’s such an exciting thing for us moms!
Tell your dad happy birthday for us, too!
Wade is changing so much… he is such a cutie!!
YEA for you guys that he is starting to take in more, which is helping him to sleep for longer periods of time. What a GREAT feeling, huh?
Have a good evening.
