Whooeee! It’s that time again. Time to be brave and share with you all what I’ve been wearing lately. :)
Thanks for all the encouraging words last month. I definitely needed that push to attempt this again!
Top: Gap, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Mudd via Goodwill
Psst… guess what I’m wearing in this pic? Yep. Another scissored white tank. :) I wore this outfit to our first visit to the Homeschool Skate event last week.
Skating was very interesting, fyi, trying to assist BOTH Haylee and Wade during their FIRST time skating at a rink. Wow, those floors are slippery, and the place pretty much had NO wall going around for them to hold onto. Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty.
I wanted to get Haylee a pair of skates to practice on before we attempted another visit, and I was THRILLED I found a super nice adjustable pair at Goodwill on my super awesome trip! We saw some nice ones at Target for $40+! Wednesday, she sat on the couch doing school with skates donned. :)
My Pink Bracelet was actually a Dollar Store find, and the Braided Rope Bracelet was a super find from a local shop in Chimney Rock from our visit this summer.
These fab little slip on Sperry Knock Offs are Mudds via a steal from another Goodwill trip recently. :) There are helping ease my trauma at having to say g’bye to my beloved flip flops. They are comfy and I even got compliments from the Skating Attendant when I got my skates, so that means they ARE awesome, right? :)
Top: Walmart, Capris: Gap, Shoes: Gap
This literally was my outfit to go outside in the backyard with the kiddies one afternoon. Roomy and comfy? Check, check! See my flip flops? I told you I wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet. :)
Top: Worthington via JCPenney, Shrug: Say What via Kohl’s Pants: Gap {Curvy Fit, Flared Leg}, Shoes: Maripe via Goodwill
I wore this to church Sunday. That little black shrug has served me well. It’s a great option to stretch the life out of sleeveless shirts or dresses, though this top isn’t actually sleeveless. The sleeves are pretty puffy though, and I had to keep making sure they weren’t peeping out. :)
I was on Praise Team, and one of the other girls had almost this exact outfit. We’re identically awesome, I guess. :)
Top: Old Navy, Capris: Gap, Shoes: Mudd
Another super casual… TYPICAL… outfit for me. I wasn’t quite sure on wearing my new shoes with the capris, but I think I like it. :)
Top: Lilly Lou via Ross, Pants: Gap, Shoes: Born via Goodwill
I saved the best for last! This is my fave new outfit! I found this super comfy and flattering shirt from Ross the other week and decided to branch out a bit with the wide belt!
When I tried it on for Chris, he said something like, “I’ve never seen you wear anything like that before.” Ha ha! Is that good or bad, honey??
No, he definitely gave me two thumbs up on my adventurous fashion move.
I was TOTALLY inspired to give the big belt a try after seeing Erin rock hers so often and so well! Now I just need one in black!
I kind of went back and forth about which shoes to wear, but ended up with these flats. Better to run after Mr. Cutie Pie with, right?
I love the fashion inspiration from Pinterest. It’s so fun and helpful to look at different combos and color pairings and get ideas for your own outfits. :) Though somehow I know I’ll never be looking this spectacular.
Aren’t they pretty?
I <heart> these shoes, but don’t think I could ever rock those skinny capris. I need capris with a flare thankyouverymuch.
Another wide belt! And isn’t that ruffle awesome?
Love the color combos of the gray and yellow and then the gray and orange below. And I need to start looking for some flat brown boots! Maybe I can add some to my Christmas list. :)
It can actually be a pretty cool indicator of what colors you’re attracted to without knowing it. I pinned a lot of gray things, so I started looking for gray tops when I was shopping. :)
I am loving this fashion inspiration and how it’s changing the way I’m choosing to dress. Since the kids and I stay home most days, it is VERY easy to really not care all that much what I’m wearing.
Knowing that I need to try to take some outfit pics can be motivating to STEP AWAY from the pj pants. :)

yay! you posted again! Love your Sunday outfit – that is very much what I am wearing tomorrow to my blog conference. Black pants, an emerald green top, and black sweater (gotta dress in layers cause it is supposed to get up to 60 but I am sure the conference room will be freezing!) and a long necklace (my new thing!)
And the wide belt – yeah, not something I would typically wear and my hubby would have the same reaction as yours – LOL! But it does always look so cute – hmmm… maybe I will try it!
And you find all your cute shoes at Goodwill! You go girl! I have to be careful with shoes as I had chronic foot pain for a few years but I should look again. :)
Here's a tip on jewelry – do ever shop at Cato? I love their store – prices are great and they always have jeans skirts if I need one. Anyways I have been trying to get more into trendier jewelry and that has been the best place to find it. I went this past week and got 3 necklace and earrings SETS for $1.99 each! and 2 more for $3.99 each. LOVE!
went and checked out SunnySide's blog – her fashion posts are a lot of fun too!
thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Renee! Oh you are so sweet to give me a shout out! And you look DARLING in all of your outfits!! Of course I'm in love with the grey top with the belt (surprise, right!?) but I also LOVE those flare capris from Gap! So cute on you! It's a little intimidating at first, isn't it? Posting pics of yourself in front of your mirror! But it's so fun to see what clothes other girls are coming up with and like you said, knowing you are taking pictures of yourself motivates you to pass up the sweats and wear a cute outfit! Have a great weekend! You have a beautiful family!
Very cute! I love wide belts, and I think if you can get one in a close shade to your shoes it adds that extra bit of pop. What's really nice is a wide belt with a flowy cardigan over it, which makes your waist look only six inches wide from the front (as opposed to the regular *ahem* well, you know :)
You are so cute! I love your style and your frugality. Seriously great!
Thanks for your comment on my blog today.
Nice job Renee! Loved the belt…looking forward to actually having a waist again so I can wear them too! =)
Most of my cute shoes come from Goodwill, love that place! And guess what?? I have the same exact black shrug from Kohls…bought it at a yard sale with the tags still on for 50 cents. I love mine!
Maybe one day I'll be as brave as you and post what I wear! =)
LOVE the Goodwill finds! I wish ours had better brands like that, I have better luck at a local thrift store. I live at Kohls though, you can't beat their clothing sale prices. Check out my link for your Liebster blog award. Love your site!

Awesome post!! There were so many great outfits to comment on, I hardly know where to start. But I think my favorites were the orange and khaki, and the black shrug/blue top/black pants.
By the way, I am a homeschooling mom, too. And I SO agree that parenting is part joy & part guerrilla warfare! :)
I followed you here from WIWW.

I love that grey shirt with the belt. Way to try something new. You look great in it.
