Saturday night the family all headed over to Billy and Robin’s for a night of food, fun and fellowship. The meal was steak, brats, salad, and baked potatoes among other things. Mmmm, mmmm, good. :) Our steaks were grilled to order by the grill master himself, Billy.
We got over there early and got to watch Gavin get a haircut via his dad and mom. It was amusing for sure. I made to sure to get pictures of him in his NORTH CAROLINA TARHEELS shirt for all the ages to see. When I said something to Johnny about it, he about had a fit right there! Kelly defended herself by saying she put it on him to get dirty with the haircut.
But regardless, it is here for all the ages to see and remember (can you tell I’ve been reading in Deuteronomy?) that a Dorothy child once wore Carolina blue!
Johnny is very much a Yankee. He’s a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan as well as University of Illinois? I’m not sure if that’s the right name, but it’s the orange team. :) I think it was physically painful for him to realize his own son, his flesh and blood was representing our own Tarheels. At one point, I even heard him say, “You’re not my son!” I think he was kidding.
The weather was fairly nice with a bit of a chill in the air. Miller and Haylee had a blast playing with the hacky sack (sp) with Chris.
Kelly finished up Gavin’s hair with the scissors…
The kids all had a great time running around outside and in. The toy they’ve found recently at Nana and Pop’s is the slinky.
Apparently, growing up, Chris and Kelly got a slinky every year for Christmas, I think. It was some sort of weird, slinky tradition. :) Anyway, the kids new game is to stretch it out and walk around the house with one on each end. It’s great fun, I’m sure.
You are very blessed to have such wonderful family on both sides.
