♥ 9lbs 2 oz at 6 weeks
♥ 10lbs 6oz at 7 weeks {that’s over a POUND in a week, folks!}
♥ 11lbs 2 oz at 8.5 weeks {and almost another POUND again!!}
**edit… At the weigh in, he was 11lbs 7oz, so 5 oz in a week. From what I’ve read 4-7 oz is what is expected so I think we’re doing good. Not what I would call “fabulous” but I’ll just keep an eye on things and keep doing what we’re doing.***
He is sleeping pretty well for us {insert Hallelujah Chorus} but is not very consistent AT ALL. He’ll go till 6:30 or 7:00 one day, and then cruelly decide he wants a snack around 3:00 or 4:00 instead. :) I shouldn’t even be complaining one little bit since compared to his big brother he is a perfect angel in the sleeping department, thanks in part to the wondrous rock and play sleeper.

He has started smiling for us too which is just thrilling for all members of the household… well, I can’t say that Wade really cares, but the rest of us adore them. I think I saw a real smile at 4 weeks but he started more regularly around 6 weeks or so.
I very rarely am getting out of the house to do any shopping, so I’m getting my “fix” online these days. I got a few pairs of babylegs off ebay for Davis to try out. Since Wade was born in March, I have a gob of onesies and the babylegs can keep his little legs warm with the onesie. They are still a bit big, but they are so cute!
Another recent purchase online was some Aden and Anais blankets from Target. They are a muslin blanket that is quite large and perfect for swaddling. {Davis is wrapped in one in the rock and play picture above. } They are made by two moms from Australia I think… Apparently muslin blankets are more common there, so they saw a market for them here in America. The muslin fabric is great since it is good combo of breath-ability and warmth, and if you’re a fellow worrier mom like me, that is a constant concern since being overwarm is linked to SIDS. I’m not sure how much the “real” ones are, but a four pack of “Aden and Anais for Target” ones are $30. That’s less than $10 a blanket so not too bad comparably. {Can you tell I had to win over Chris on the idea?}
I also made my first diaper purchase from amazon! Wow what a steal! I had seen lots of bargain blogs talking about it and my sis even broke down the cost for me so I decided to go for it. I had already signed up for Amazon Mom which gets me free shipping. Then I selected the “subscribe and save” option which took another 30% off. {After the order shipped, I went back and canceled it.} I got a Luvs size 1 box of 264 diapers for only $25! AND it is shipped right to my house AND doesn’t make my grocery total seem ridiculous at Walmart! :) Seriously, it was a shockingly huge box that will last us a while!
Davis was around 6 weeks here… See how tall that box is??
Though, you know I will blink and I’ll be using the last diaper wondering how that happened. :)
Cracking up cause right when I scrolled down to see Davis in the babylegs and smiling, I go, "Awwwww…".. Just to read you say, "Seriously, impossible to resist that smile!" :) Very true!
And I love that he's sleeping for you! Even if it's not consistently!
And what potty trainer doesn't walk around the house with no pants?! ;)
And yay on the diaper purchase! I still can't believe what a good price it was and surprisingly ours seem to still be lasting!
I can't wait to see him! (And all of you!) He has grown SO MUCH!
Love ya!
