When I had Wade, I was shocked to discover he was not going to be as easy going as his big sister Haylee. He did NOT care for most baby toys like the bouncer or the swing. I even named him my fussbudget.
Many people recommended a sling or carrier, but at that point I didn’t want to invest in one. {Though I probably should have.}
During my pregnancy with the Davis Man, I decided early on that I definitely wanted the option available should he follow in his brother’s footsteps.
My sister and friend both let me borrow their hotslings which I used early on…
I VERY MUCH wanted the amazing Ergo mainly because of the rav reviews from Heather. She is the queen of all things carriers. If you have any carrier questions, she is your go-to girl. :)
See what I mean? She should really sell them or something. :)
{I hope she won’t be mad at me for swiping that pic!! I just had to!}
I really wanted one, but they are not cheap.
They do pop up on babysteals at 40-50% off occasionally, but for some reason it’s usually the same few patterns… none of which I wanted! Boo!
{As a side note, I just saw on the Ergo Baby website that they are about to offer Petunia Pickle Bottom patterns! They look sooo cute!}
FINALLY, I got a heads up from Heather that there was a different pattern listed!
Things go so QUICK on babysteals. Especially when it’s the good stuff, but I was able to snag my very own Ergo for cheap!!! Plus, the re-sell value is REALLY high, so I should be able to sell it on ebay when I’m done and get some of that moolah back.
I love that its straps are big enough to support and make longer trips like shopping at Walmart bearable… unlike the baby bjorn.
With Wild Wade, any shopping trip where he is NOT restrained or contained is a loooong one for everyone. Our normal plan of grocery shopping attack is Davis in the carrier and Wade in the buggy. We’ve tried the two buggy method and the one buggy/one stroller method, but I really hate shopping in Walmart caravan style.
Seriously. It is HARD enough navigating their crowded aisles with ONE buggy let only two.
Chris even gets in on the fun!
Which I big heart love.
He has even been taking Davis Duty at Walmart recently… which is so nice. I blaze the trail with the list in hand, and he pushes the buggy with Davis in the cozy pouch. :)
On this trip he carried Davis and pushed Wade in the stroller while I did some thrift store shopping!
What could be better?
The Ergo has pretty high weight limits too which is nice…
Not that my shoulders could take that very long. :)
What about you? Are you a carrier/sling buff or do you prefer a stroller for your daily adventures?
Any other ergo lovers wanna chime in with how awesome it is?
