Everything is always crazy exciting in my sis’s life, so it was to be expected that Ryan’s send off to Iraq would not be business as usual.
On Sunday, Haylee told Uncle Ryan that it was not awesome that he had to leave. She asked him too why he had to go fight people.
I really can not imagine the heart rending emotions he must go through saying farewell to your 2 week old son. :( They can definitely say that their lives are anything but boring. Think of the stories they’ll have to share with Eli about how life was for them back when he was born!
I’ll let B give all the details as I’m sure this is worthy blog fodder for her, but I will say they were pleasantly surprised that he got to stay an extra day! These were supposed to be the last moments before leaving for the airport pictures, but they get to do it all again tonight!
Awwww, how sweet!
Hope you enjoy the Pearl’s magazine as much as I do! I think they’re a bit off doctrinally (I don’t know where you are with all that, but they believe in the age of accountability and dispensationalism, etc. etc.) I do really like their practical insights into the family, though, and their books “Created to be His Help Meet” and “To Train Up a Child” I found really good. I’d love to know your take on this stuff, too! (You won’t make me upset if you don’t agree, lol)
My heart goes out to them! That would be so hard.
ok tears!!
