Life is a vapor, isn’t it?
It’s amazing what a little bit of perspective can do to your outlook. All the little, petty things that seem so LARGE and AWFUL and DAUNTING to us, pale in comparison to the REAL pain that others just like us are experiencing.
A wife and mother of seven ended her long battle with cancer this morning.
Someone I knew from college.
Someone young and otherwise healthy.
Someone leaving SO MUCH behind.
My heart breaks for these SEVEN little ones and their father.
Amy was diagnosed in October 2008 with breast cancer. At that time, she also found out she was pregnant with her seventh child. She was miraculously able to deliver a healthy, beautiful boy and has been fighting with this cancer since then.
Please, please, please take a minute to read Amy’s own words on how the Valley of the Shadow of Death looming over you REALLY feels. Her words are heart wrenching, REAL, and powerful.
Words can’t express what a BEAUTIFUL testimony she has poured forth and HOW MUCH it has meant to ME… as well as to COUNTLESS others around the world who have heard her story.
Please pray for this family.
Hold your own loved ones tightly and choose to focus on the GOOD things in your life today.
I know I will be.
Definitely does give you a healthy dose of some good perspective on life. I too, am heart-broken for the children and John. I never even really knew Amy well, but her testimony since 2008 has touched me on many levels. Do you mind if I "share" your post on my fbook page?
I don't mind at all. Please do share. I think the greatest tribute we can give Amy is to share her story and be changed because of it.
So sad. This is one of those times that begs the question, "Why?"
We will definitely continue to pray for the dear ones she's left behind….
Very sad. =( And thank you for sharing this. I never knew Amy, but have heard (and read) so much about her.
We will be praying for them!
Thanks for posting this. I'd heard about Amy, and my heart is so sad for their family. They were such an amazing couple to meet.
