St. Patrick’s Day was the BIG day. The big day for Sam and Heather that is. And for me too, since I was the Wedding Planner. Heather likes to call me J-Lo b/c of her movie, “The Wedding Planner” although I didn’t have the cool headset that she sported in the film. As weddings usually are, this one was crazy and hectic with people in the bridal party late to the rehearsal and for pictures on the wedding day. Bridal Party pictures (taken by my sis, the illustrious photog) were set to begin at 11 o’clock and they had been instructed to arrive at the church between 10 and 11 am. The last groomsman didn’t roll in until about 12 o’clock. He was lucky I didn’t wring his neck, although I did threaten.
Despite all the craziness, the wedding went beautifully, and we all sighed with relief. :) After the bride and groom sped off on their honeymoon, Chris tried to drag me away from the clean up process. I felt horrible leaving though, but we were already a day late checking in to Pigeon Forge for our 7th anniversary trip. So after just a bit, we headed home to finish throwing things in our suitcase. Carolina was playing that night, and our one goal became getting to the resort before the game started. We didn’t make it unfortunately, but Chris did get to see the last half or so.
Sam and Heather were actually honeymooning near us in Gatlinburg, TN. So we got to hang out a bit with them, although we didn’t want to crash their honeymoon. :)
Here’s a slideshow that Bette Anne put together of Sam and Heather. We played it at the rehearsal dinner and during the wedding reception.
