All the kiddos’ clothes are housed in a huge Ikea Wardrobe.
It has tons of space, but the roomy, deeeep shelves are perfect for mass confusion. Especially for Haylee to keep neat herself. As much as she tries, and as much as I try to keep on top of, inevitably Haylee’s shelves turn into a pile of semi-wadded clothes. We recently cleaned it out, so the above is actually a good pic.
I had been looking for some small plastic shelves to use to keep the mayhem at bay… at least as much as possible when three kids are sharing a wardrobe. :)
The few shelves that I’ve seen were way too pricey, so I put off the purchase.
UNTIIIIIIL…. one day this week on our way home from the gym, I knew Davis would fall back asleep if I drove around just a bit. So that’s what I did. I drove down to a nearby neighborhood to lull him to la la land. I was surprised to see some perfect white shelves at the road in front of a house. Now, I normally would not have the nerve to stop and pick up some stranger’s trash, but for some reason I mustered up the nerve and swung back around. I sidled up to the curb and quickly snatched it and dashed. The garage door was open so I didn’t know if I would be spotted or not. :)
I was ELATED when I tried out the shelves and they were a PERFECT FIT!

I am loving it! Can’t beat FREE! It was definitely worth the dash of shame. I know my curb shopping sil, Jen is so proud of me right now!
Here’s the after…
One more B&A…
Now if I could just find two more shelves on the curb…
Good for you Renee!! It feels like such a sweet God blessing when He puts things like that in our paths :)
Yay! It is all those decor blogs you have been reading that seem to find perfectly good furniture on the side of the road. I sometimes will see something and if I am with David, he is like "NO way, we are not stopping and picking up someone else's trash!"
I see a perfectly good Radio Flyer tricycle in our neighbors trash a year or so ago and swiped it! It looked brand new – can't believe people throw stuff out like that!
My oldest niece is now enjoying it and then it will probably get resold for $15 at a kids sale! :)
