Heads up?

scale
I had my 36 week check up yesterday, and it started off with a bang with the dreaded weigh in.  I actually had to do it twice because I didn’t believe it at first.  I have gained SEVEN pounds in just the last 2 weeks.  SEVEN pounds… TWO weeks.  Did you get that?  I’m not even sure how that’s possible.

I’m up to a total weight gain of 29 lbs which is 7 more than I gained with Wade in all.  The recommended weight gain is 25 to 30, and I’m definitely going to be passing that.

Dr. Peach attempted to make me feel better by telling me that such rapid weight gain is usually fluids… so I’m sticking with that answer, however illogical gaining SEVEN pounds of fluids in two weeks is.  :)

I had my beta strep test (fun!) and my first cervical check.  I guess this means we are getting close!  I am dilated about a centimeter, but he said the cervix was still pretty thick.  As he was feeling around, he got a puzzled look on his face and said he wasn’t sure if he was feeling the head or not.  He said it felt like a foot.  So that meant a quick ultrasound (this makes #5) to see which way the baby was facing.

breech
Unfortunately, Baby #3 AKA, my little gymnast, is Heads up.  :(  At my last ultrasound 2 weeks ago, he was head down!  Soooooo, that means another ultrasound next week to check position, and if he is still breech, then I go into the hospital the following week for an External Cephalic Version to attempt to move the baby.  If that’s successful, then 9 out of 10 times the baby will stay head down and things will be a “go” for a vaginal delivery.  Of course, this little one seems like he would be the one that would be flipping back.  So we wait until next week’s ultrasound to see what’s ahead…

Nana had the kids for the day so I decided to go shopping!  Shopping kid-less is just absolutely amazing. I hit Mighty Dollar

IMG_0722 {I just love Mighty Dollar!  I needed an extra set of measuring cups since Chris likes to leave cups inside things like the sugar, etc. I also got a cozy pair of socks to take to the hospital.  I found a Princess step by step drawing book that I knew Haylee would love.  I had to find something for Wade too since I was getting something for Haylee.  :)}

Hobby Lobby…
IMG_0724 {This fabulous RED charger was only $1.99!  Pretty good, huh!}

Goodwill…
IMG_0725 {I was planning to pick up one of these bath slings!  So much better to find it at GW for only $2!}
…and a brand new store that just opened up… Ollie’s Bargain Outlet!
IMG_0727
Ollie’s seems similar to a Big Lots, but their book section is AMAZING and SOOO cheap!  I got all the books above for only $14!! The dictionary was $5.  The thesaurus was $4. The book on the States was $3, and the Curious George board book was only $2.  Three out of the four are hardback! They have a HUGE selection too! Haylee was thrilled with them, and seemed enthralled just looking through at the pictures.

It was much fun!!  I know that in just a few weeks there will be very little recreational shopping to be had.  :)

    Okay I know the baby is important & all but WHERE IS THE OLLIE'S??? LOL!
    There's one up in VA where Danny's from & I've only ever heard FANTASTIC things about it… didn't know there were ANY 'round here.

    We'll be praying for you & the baby… & if the version doesn't work, Google acupuncture & chiropractic treatments for turning baby. I've had a coupla friends that had good experiences with BOTH of those… & I dunno about you… but I'd try ANYTHING before I surrendered to a c-section!!!

    Good luck!

    Glad you found a bath sling!! :)

    I would google different positions you can take to turn the baby, hands and knees etc. That can help you avoid an External Cephalic Version.

    It just still seems so crazy to me that you guys are going to be a family of 5 now!!
