My New ‘Do

Getting a haircut is almost impossible to manage these days. It’s what drives me to letting Chris do it… although he does do a pretty good job! ;) I had been longing for one for a while now, and finally was able to make it happen this weekend.
The family plus Sam drove to Carolina Place Mall and I made an appointment with Toni & Guy. I had never heard of them, but decided to try them out upon recommendation of Heather… They are more of an upscale place without being totally ridiculous in their prices. A cut starts at $44 and goes up to around $89 I think, depending on the experience and education of the stylist.
After I made the appointment, we headed to Harper’s to eat a quick bite… After I scarfed down my food I left the crowd and hurried back to wait for my appointment. $44 is a lot when you’re used to paying $15 or so, but their $44 included shampoo, cut and style which would be at least upper $20’s at the $15 place, soooo maybe it’s not so completely outrageous.
I was really impressed with the end result, even though I was the last cut of her day and she made a few comments about how she had been on her feet all day, and after she was done with me she was heading straight home. That isn’t exactly a confidence booster. :)
Sooooo…. what do you think?
The straight look…. do you notice any difference?

from the back…

and the curly look…

I’m notorious for getting a cut, thinking it’s SOOO completely drastic and different, and then find that nobody even notices…. So, if you’re sitting there thinking, “Wow, that looks exactly the same.” Then, okay, but I’m going to continue to believe that it’s extraordinary. :)

“Wow, that looks exactly like….” I am KIDDING! It looks great. You are right, its not drastic, but the layers are nice. I am jealous that you have the option of curly or straight. I know even if no one notices, it makes a big difference to you and that’s what counts! (And what is up with the unprofessionalism of the stylist?? she should have left the complaining to herself. You should get some entertainment thrown in for the price, not whining! LOL)

I was just going to say that I really liked the layers — I can notice them in both the front and back shots. It looks really nice both straight and curly…

I always love to have my hair shampooed and cut – it’s relaxing. ;)

I like it – oh, I wish I had the option of curly or straight!! But I just have straight, very straight!!! I always get the whiny ladies, or the ones that tell you how they are just learning . . . makes me so nervous!! Looks good!

I really like it and glad that you finally braved the salon! ;) I love the layers and I think that length looks really good on you! And that’s about what I spend too on a cut/style, so don’t make me feel bad! ;)

You forgot one of the most important parts to the story. The part where I held Wade for the whole dinner in one hand and ate with the other. That’s way more interesting, I think.
