We are in the Home Stretch…

With 7 and a half weeks to my due date, I think it is safe to say that we are in the home stretch. It seems hard to believe that the time has gone by this fast… Wasn’t it just July when we found out?
Dr. Peach has mentioned February 21st as a possible induction date which would put the countdown at a mere 5 and a half weeks! I’m not sure if I’m going to go ahead with the induction or not, but at least I have that as an option. I may feel differently when I’m at that point where you just feel hugely uncomfortable and nothing seems to help.

I am trying to get things organized at school hoping that when the time does roll around things won’t be left in a chaotic state for my sub… Can you just picture my water breaking with my class full of fifth graders? Oh the horror. Talk about leaving an indelible print on your students… I don’t know that they would be able to forget that…

Tonight was a momentous occasion for me. At long last, I have finally been able to indulge my Dunkin Donuts craving for a Bavarian Creme doughnut!
We started a Bible study on the Five Love Languages and the teacher gave an illustration about going to DD with his son and getting a box that his son ended up giving away to various people. On the way home, I complained to Chris that he shouldn’t have been talking about DD, because now I wanted some! My superb hubby got off at the next exit and headed back in the direction of church… and Dunkin Donuts. Just for his hormone-crazed wife. What a guy.

I’ve not read the book about the Five Love Languages, but I’ve heard of them. It’s an interesting topic to think about the language that your spouse and children have and if you are really filling their “love tank.” I think Chris’s is Acts of Service because I definitely see him expressing his love for me in that way. He is great about helping out around the house and doing me big and little favors.
I’m really not sure what mine is. I think it may be Quality Time, but Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch are up there too…
Do you know yours? Gary Chapman wrote the book and our Bible Study looks like it is going to be watching his dvd series for the most part. They actually also mentioned that he is scheduled to be speaking at the church in April which will be interesting.
Anyway, we enjoyed it and think it may be something helpful in our communication process and in how we raise Haylee.

Haylee goes to Awanas while we are at this study and for some reason she just isn’t crazy about it. She hasn’t actually gone enough to really say she doesn’t like it, but tonight she was actually crying when we said she had to go. She kept saying, “I don’t wanna go to iguanas!” :)
Things seemed to go okay tonight which was good, but someone actually thought they should tell me that I looked like I was about to pop.
Seriously? Do you think that is EVER something a pregnant woman wants to hear, even if she is say, days away from her due date? I can tell you. It is definitely not something I want to hear when I have 8 weeks to go. I guess I responded well. I didn’t punch her or anything. I just smiled and said something like “No, I have a ways to go.”

That was very well behaved of me, wasn’t it? Every once in a while, I try to behave like an adult. :)

Ha! First, you DO NOT look like you are going to pop. You look sooo cute. I think that is just something that people say, b/c they think that is “the” thing to say. =P

I am sooo glad that you got some DD! I told Sam I would have some for him at the airport when I pick him up. =)

Oh and I LOVE the “love language” stuff. Very cool.

Can’t wait to see the new addition to the Cauthen family!

How very exciting everything must be for you being on the “home stretch” now! I know in some ways it has to be a little overwhelming trying to get your classroom/curriculum ready for your sub, but you’ll be fine. It sounds like your new Bible study is very interesting. Glad you are enjoying the many ministries of the church. Haylee’s comment about Awana was quite humorous… hopefully she’ll grow to like it. Have a great week! Maybe you can have some more DD! ;)

Okay, you are soooooo NOT that big!!! Holy cow… I looked like I was 9 months with Lawrie @ 6 months… someone actually asked me once if I was expecting twins! It sent me to tears…

I LOVE the “Love Languages” book! We getting ready to start a study on it, too @ Trinity. Let me know know when Dr. Chapman’s coming to speak… I know our group will want to come hear him!

There’s also the “Five Love Languages of Children” that’s great too.

What a terrible thing for that woman to say! I wonder if she’s ever been pregnant? Hmph. I’m ticked off for you, girl!

Too bad about Awanas and Hayley. I think a lot of it has to do with the help and teachers. Hopefully she’ll fit in okay next time!

I’ve heard really good things about that book, too, although I’ve never really read it. I know Andy would definitely be the “acts of service” person!

First of all, you do NOT look like you’re ready to pop, unless your belly suddenly grew 6 inches since I’ve been gone! ;) I got “Are you sure there aren’t twins in there”, “You look like you could go anyday…”, “You sure he’s not a giant” and the classic… “You look like you’re about to pop sweetheart!” Like Heather said, I think people just don’t know what to say, so they think that is appropriate. I think it is the worst when it comes from other women who have been pregnant! They should know what not to say! Anyways, so cute about Haylee talking about Awana’s… Hopefully it will grow on here. And you should so get induced when Dr. Peach will be there. He likes you, so he’ll make sure he’s not in a meeting when Wade decides to make his arrival! ;)
