Baby Update

I am now 23 and a half weeks along… Can you believe I’m almost 6 mo’s pregnant already? I definitely can’t. The time has seemed to fly by. I know I need to post a belly pic, but I have a rocky relationship with my camera at the moment.

I think it’s safe to say that my belly has definitely “popped” this month. At my 19 week appointment, I had gained a total of 3 lbs and at my 23 week appointment it jumped to 9 lbs. :) So 6 lbs in one month, no wonder I’ve “popped.” I’m wondering if it could have anything to do with my recent cravings of doughnuts? Dunkin Donuts powered with creme filling. That’s my ultimate craving. So far, I haven’t gotten one yet, though Chris did make a valiant attempt the other night. He called ahead to see if they had them, and then drove the 15 or so minutes out of his way, only to arrive and find that none of delicious donuts were left. Needless to say, he was less than thrilled, especially with the worker’s attitude… Oh, were you the one who called ahead? This didn’t do much for his opinion of Dunkin Donuts. He has always been a Krispy Kreme man with an almost addiction to the Hot and Now sign. :) He did bring me some powdered with lemon filling and glazed with chocolate on top with creme filling ones which were yummy. And of course, he definitely is awarded mega points for all his effort. ;)

So the growing belly has produced a dilemna of even greater than normal proportions. The “What do I wear” feeling just seems to never have an answer. It would be easier if I weren’t working, and could bum around more often in my comfy pj’s. Ah, my pj’s. I’m still in the too small for most of my maternity shirts and I only have a few maternity pants that aren’t denim. I am making use of my elastic-waisted skirts and am ready to stretch them to the max!

I think that I have decided to not go with frogs and go with planes instead for the crib bedding. It just seems so appropriate given Chris’s love and dream of flying, and I found a very cute affordable set at Walmart.
B put things into perspective for me when she said that she realized she shouldn’t spend more on Eli’s crib bedding than she would spend on her own bedding which she would use much longer…. so true, huh? It is easy to get carried away though with all the dreaming and planning and wanting things to be “just so.”
I actually worked on cleaning out Haylee’s closet and dresser last weekend and was able to make room in the closet for some cute baby things! One step closer to being ready for the big day….
So here’s a pic of the airplane bedding…. Not a sure thing yet, but I’m thinking I’m liking it. :)

I wish I could post a picture comment, so I could show you a pic of the airplane mobile to see if it would work. I can’t believe you are 23 weeks preggo… I need to see a preggo pick so I could compare, cause that’s when I had my professional pics taken. Speaking of which, I need to take some fun preggo pics of you for my portfolio… I promise I won’t charge you too much! ;)

I love the bedding choice! It’s great… and so “BOY.” ;) Seriously, it’s really nice. So glad to hear that things are going well. I remember the frustrating dilemma of what to wear quite well… too bad we can’t be like all the teenagers today and wear our pj’s out in public, huh?? ;)

Renee I love the airplane idea. A friend of mine planned to do that for her little boy – but more transportation – trucks, cars, planes. She planned to hang airplanes from the ceiling, paint the walls green on the bottom, blue on top, and a road as the “chair rail”. Of course she was pregnant and didn’t get it all done in time so she ended up with the basics – but her ideas were so amazing!!!

Awww, that bedding is really cute, too! Good choice.

Glad you seem to be doing really well. I can completely relate with the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts thing, though. I just LOVE those nice hot rounds of deliciousness, but unfortunately, there aren’t any up here. Well, perhaps it is actually fortunate, as I’d be gaining even more weight than I am now!

Wow, I can’t believe you are six months pregnant either! I like the bedding, it is really cute! I can only imagine how crazy it is to try to find stuff to wear. I have a hard time now and I don’t have to deal with a preggo belly-kudos to you for having to creatively dress yourself due to an ever-growing belly. =)

First of all I love the airplanes. My whole life I always wanted my celling painted sky blue with clouds.

I knew there was a reason we were friends and I know me and wade will get along. DD’s are the best I hate that you guys can just drive over and get a box. How much money would I pay for a box right now. I won’t tell, it’s embarrassing.

My heart skipped a beat when you said you cleaned out Haylee’s closet. I hit me like a brick and I am still breathing hard and my eyes are watering a little. You guys are going to need a bigger house! Maybe you can build an extension on, I could help. You can’t leave us. Who will mow the lawn and do house repairs. Or watch LOST. Okay, I have to quit before someone sees a tear.
