I really can’t believe that it has been as long as it has since I have posted an official preggo update pic. I am 18 weeks 3 days today and my last one was 12 weeks 4 days. Oops.
I think my cool plan of wearing the same shirt backfired on me, because when I think about taking a pic, the thought of getting up and finding that red shirt, and changing, and THEN posing for a preggo shot just seems too much to do. :)
But on Wednesday I finally went through the hassle and got the updated shot… aren’t you proud of me? I do need to provide a disclaimer, however, lest you all get excited. The angle and shirt and the camera? all make me look much bigger than I really am. Really. :) Chris did laugh when I shared my perspective on the situation, so maybe my view of myself is not quite realistic? I did just ask someone at school yesterday if I looked pregnant and she said no… while muttering disgustedly since she just had a baby girl two weeks ago… So who knows…
It is amazing how things can change in the pregnancy and baby world within just a few years. Going shopping with Bette Anne at Babies R Us showed me that. I was in shock at the fancy-spancy gear now available. What was top of the line when Haylee was born is now pretty much middle of the road gear now. I mean, the pack and plays in and of themselves are out of this world. I even saw one with a polished wood grain! I’m sure it must weigh a ton.
So one thing that may or may not have been out there when I was expecting Haylee is the Amazing Bella Band. That’s my name for it at least. I think it is normally referred to as simply, the Bella Band. B kindly loaned it to me, and I have found it is amazing in its ability to make pants that may not even zip up, be a functional part of your wardrobe! Somehow the super tight stretchy material can hold your pants in place while appearing to the public as simply a white undershirt peeking through. For the record, these pants do not even come close to buttoning… :)
This wonderful piece of elastic can expand your wardrobe possibilities in that wonderful 2nd trimester phase where you’re too big for normal clothes but too small for most maternity clothes as illustrated below… hee hee!
I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my big ultrasound and the big moment of truth… hopefully finding out what we’re having… I will try to reveal the big news as soon as possible.
I’ve been told to wait and be surprised since it provides a terribly exciting delivery. I do think I would enjoy that surprise, but I don’t think I could make myself wait. I’ve also heard that women who don’t know the gender of the baby push harder during labor because of the anticipation of finding out. Interesting, I thought, since I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before, but it does make sense.
Will it be a Wade or Kendall? Hmmm… the suspense is a killer.
Can’t wait to find out what you’re having! Does Hayley have a preference? And no, you don’t really look that pregnant. I look bigger than you and I’m only 9 weeks. *Sigh*
(Of course, I look bigger than you when I’m not pregnant, lol!)
I CAN’T wait to hear either!! I’m sooooooooooo excited for you guys! YEA!
Gotta’ LOVE all the new gadgets and things to drool over when it comes to babies… I sure wish I knew about the Bella band when I was pregnant! I HATED that awful stage when you were in between reg. clothes and maternity. Oh well… enjoy. :)
