Last night I was a woman alone! ALONE! We moms don’t often get to experience that feeling anymore. Aunt B came to cart Haylee off since she wanted to take her to the “World Famous” Cleveland County Fair! Chris was working late and then stayed later to work on his 15 page paper due Thursday.
So… that left me alone with my papers to grade and my beloved Gilmore Girls to watch. I have all the ABC family Gilmore Girls DVR’d which makes Chris sooooo happy! He “loves” it when the DVR is full… especially when it’s Gilmore Girls and Full House. Believe it or not, Haylee is addicted to Full House. :)
Anyway, so I had several episodes of GG to watch and I kept ’em rolling as I graded and recorded my ginormous mound of papers and made my test packets to be sent home…
I do enjoy moments alone since it can be a rare occasion, but I do not enjoy going to sleep alone. Not at all really… I ended up falling asleep on the couch and then getting up eventually to make my way to bed. :)
I also tend to let my imagination run wild with every noise and creak I hear. At any moment some crazy psycho could knock down the door. Can you tell I watch too much crime TV? ;)
Thankfully, I was not abducted and survived/enjoyed my night alone…
i hate being alone too.. i make up people breaking into the back door. ha ha ha such a wimp.. but alone time is so nice.. actually very needed most of the time.. hey i haven’t had alone time in a long time.. :) why does chris have a paper.. ? thought he was done with school?
I know what you mean, sister! I have gotten much better at “coping” sleeping alone and the like. I used to check the doors like 4 or 5 times before I went to bed, but now I just lock them and go to bed. I’m proud of myself, but I definitely like it better when Sam is home!!! Time alone is nice though. If you ever find yourself alone and also lonely call me over, I’m only a house away. =)
You’re funny… I was just “talking” to Amy about this b/c Dan’s away for a few days… when Matt’s not home, I do not sleep well and do hear more “noises”, etc. LOL.
There is some value to getting a few hours to yourself though. Hope you enjoyed enjoyed the time to just relax a bit while getting some things accomplished.
Have a great day!
I can so sympathize. Someone should ask my students what it has been like to have a severely sleep deprived teacher. Dan has been gone is Tuesday. He is helping his parents get settled in Utah. He is flying home on this coming Tuesday. Only 3 more nights!!!
Hee hee, I can sympathize with you. It took me two years to get used to Andy’s twitching, tossing, and turning, and now I can’t seem to sleep well unless the bed wobbles every few minutes or so all night long! Glad you had a nice evening to yourself!
