Date Night… Whoo hoo!

Rachel’s post spurred me to go out and rent Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. It seemed wrong that I have never actually seen it. I’m thinking it was a big blockbuster in its day, right?
We just recently joined at Family Video. Any of you all have those nearby? They are amazingly cheap, especially compared to Blockbuster. They have a kid’s movie rack which are FREE for five nights. Their Family Movie section and Old Releases were $1 for five nights, with some oldies being 2/$1 for five nights. The New Releases were only $2.59 for one night. I think Blockbuster is almost $4. PLUS, when you join, you get half off everything for the first month…
Okay… thus concludes the Family Video commercial. No animals were harmed… ;)
So we had a date night which was really nice…
We went to my new favorite restaurant, Olive Garden. This was completely wonderful of Chris since there is basically nothing that he enjoys on the menu, and he is, shall we say, not a pasta lover. It was scrumptious once again. It is amazing how much I enjoy their food compared to most other similar restaurants.
After stuffing ourselves, we came home to enjoy some Robin Hood… I don’t know that I would recommend the movie, really, though I did enjoy it, I suppose. They were some risque moments, not to mention the crazy, slightly disturbing witch. I’m not a fan of witchery things. I’m a proponent of the idea that we should be “innocent concerning evil.” It’s kind of a tricky debate, though, because some argue that all types of magic are evil. This would include things as innocent as Cinderella and Pinocchio. That’s a bit of a stretch in my opinion, but I do think that we can draw the line at the openly evil type magic.
Another drawback of the Robin Hood movie experience was the oh-so-obvious lack of the Bryan Adams “Everything I do” music video on the DVD. How could that not make the DVD version? I mean, they had a whole separate disc just for the special features, but NO video. At least they did play the music during the end credits. I had to be happy with that. I guess I could have gone back to Rachel’s post to get the full experience. :)
All in all, we had a splendid date night with just the two of us… We have so enjoyed having Chris home this week. He did a fabulous job on our snazzy deck even amid the blazing sun all week. Haylee and I even got to help him. We were the official screw loaders. We would put the screw into the drill as he set it down, ready for the next drilling. He even let me pull out some staples out of the balusters to prep them. Now, I can say I helped… ;)
I plan to take some pics of the finished product to proudly display for the world to see… Stay tuned…
