I haven’t posted on my grocery game in a while, but I have been plugging on, going strong, clipping away.
I have reached an all new high or low depending on your perspective in my coupon craziness. I had a midnight rendezvous, a not-so-secret tryst with my great love, my coupons.
Harris Teeter is tripling Q’s this weekend starting this morning. With triple Q’s, things fly off the shelf, so arriving their early is imperative in ensuring the best deals. They open bright and early at 6 am and getting there at that obscene hour really didn’t appeal to me, quite frankly.
We have one Gastonia store that’s open 24 hours. It’s a bit farther away, but they started tripling coupons at midnight which sounded much better than a 6 am shopping trip.
So, after tucking my hubby in bed, (not really) I headed off about 11:30 pm to grab the bargains.
Here’s my shopping stats…
Shelf $ 87.56
Spent $10.96
Saved $76.60
Whoo-hoo…
It’s always when I look at the photo, and then at the amount you actually spent that I start to get this sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach! I will never cease to be TOTALLY amazed at your money-saving efforts and success! Way to go.
I like the idea of midnight shopping a lot more too. Mom BEGGED me to go with her this morning, so I woke up at 5:45 AM, and it was NOT fun. She got some good deals though, but good grief it is not my idea of a good morning!
I remember midnight shopping when I was pregnant with Lawrie. A WalMart had just opened up near the house before I got pregnant & Danny works until 11 pm on some nights, so he’d get home & I’d head out! It made pregnancy insomnia much more fun… but I did get kind of tired of WalMart!
